Notes and News – Week of 11/6/2017

HL’s Pieces

Dear Red Lions,

I hope many of you remembered to set your clocks back and enjoyed having the extra hour to get some good rest or work done.  Congratulations to many of you who were involved in putting together the many events for Family Weekend.  I am always amazed at the amazing artists and performers – vocalists, instrumentalists, comedians, dancers, etc. – we have in the college and across the university.

Speaking of family and celebrations… Bérénice turned 1 on 10/24.  Here she is in her very adorable lamb costume in the TD Dining Hall on Halloween with her proud parents, Joscha and Anouk.  And we cannot thank our wonderful Dining Hall managers and staff enough for a great Halloween dinner last Tuesday night!  I know everyone had a great time with the mystery boxes and cupcake decorations.

Our “photo of the week” is submitted by TD first year Rebecca Amonor who is co-captain of the IM volleyball team with Kahlil Greene leading their team to victory this past Wednesday against Murray.  Congratulations!!!

PROJECT LETS
Project LETS is a non-profit organization working to create an inclusive community for individuals with lived experiences of mental illness through peer support services, advocacy efforts, and political change. The mission of this organization is to provide an open, safe, inclusive, constructive and creative community for Yale students, particularly for students who are neurodivergent. Within this group, we aim to explore community as a means of self-expression, advocacy, catharsis, celebration, and inspiration. We want to develop an environment that is welcoming, compassionate, and supportive for all students through one-on-one relationships between student mentors, known as PMHAs (Peer Mental Health Advocates), and their mentees.
