Notes and News – Week of 4/30/2018

HL’s Pieces

Dear Red Lions,

First, a giant thank you to all of you for being so patient and cooperative about the weather this weekend.  I especially want to thank our new SAC board for working so hard this weekend to pull off TD Day parts 1 and 2 as well as the Popeye’s study break last night.  Thank you for your hard work!  Here is a photo of the hardworking team taking a quick break from serving up cotton candy and popcorn to climb up to the top of the slide!

And hot off the presses, here is our “photo of the week” from Dean Mahurin who caught a number of our TDers at participating in today’s charity basketball tournament at Payne Whitney gym.

The TD multi-purpose room closes tonight and Summer Storage opens for business on Tuesday 5/1.  If you need boxes please head down to the multi-purpose room where you can pay $10 – cash or credit – for your boxes.  Any questions about storage should be directed to TD Operations Manager, KC Mills, at kc.mills@yale.edu.

Here are some important events for the rest of the semester:

Tuesday 5/1 8:30pm TD Orchestra Spring Concert (TD Dining Hall)

Come hear the final performance of the Timothy Dwight Community Chamber Orchestra!  We’ll be performing a program of Debussy, Sibelius, and Coleridge-Taylor.  A light reception will follow in the Thompson Room.

Wednesday 5/2 5-7:30pm Farewell Dinner to the Bajwa Family (TD Dining Hall)

We will celebrate the wonderful Bajwa Family who have been beloved resident fellows of the TD community.  By special request, our Dining Hall staff will be doing a special chicken tenders dinner and a sundae bar.  Family protocol will be in effect so please make sure to have your TD sticker!  We also welcome guests from the Bajwas’ Halal dinners.

Thursday 5/3 5:30pm Senior Cocktail Hour (TD House) and Senior Dinner (TD Dining Hall)

Come celebrate the end of the semester and a wonderful four years as you head towards graduation!  We start with a fun – but brief – cocktail hour in the TD house.  At 6:15pm we take a quick break for the TD senior class photo in the courtyard – pray for sunshine!  And then go to the TD Dining Hall for a wonderful senior dinner by 6:30pm.
