TIMOTHY DWIGHT NOTES & NEWS

WEEK OF 2/28/22

HL’S PIECES

Dear Red Lions,

Hope you all saw the exciting news that our spring Chubb Fellowship Series will return with violinist Hilary Hahn!  As I noted in my email we will be sharing more details about the event before spring break.  For now, please put the day and time of 4:30pm on Monday 4/11 on your calendar.

This week’s “photo of the week” features our winners from last Friday’s “Final Cut” competition!  We had a wonderful turnout of 3 competing teams composed of TD sophomores and first-years.  Many thanks to Harrison Bushnell for capturing our winning team!  From right to left are TD first-years Shtile Shuaipaj, Arantxa Galvan, and Anna Zhao.

Many thanks to our other competitors – Carlos Torres, Aiwen Desai, Demi Lee, Kaleb Assefa, and Varun Varanasi – who also showed tremendous heart and skill in their cooking!  We will be cheering you on – Shtile, Arantxa, and Anna– as you go onto the next round!

Much gratitude goes out to our wonderful TD Dining Hall for their great work last week doing back-to-back events with the Guac Cart and the Celebrating Black History Month family dinner menu.  We are grateful to Crystal Coleman for her fried ribs, Sharon Brown for her braised greens, and Kadeisha Blackwood for her banana pudding!

Here are some important events/deadlines for the next few weeks:

Saturday 3/5 Mott Woolley Ski Trip
The Mott Ski trip lottery results were sent out last week and I believe only a handful of unclaimed seats remained as of this morning.  Mott has created a waitlist and notified folks when someone has dropped out for any reason.  If you have any questions about the waitlist, please contact Mott Co-President at jai.chadha@yale.edu.

Without further ado, here is a word from Dean Mahurin…

Àshe,
