Bikeshare

Yale Student Bikeshare Program

The Yale Student Bikeshare Program is housed under the Yale Student Environmental Coalition that hosts free bikeshare services in 6 residential colleges.

TD students are able to book free bike rentals every day of the week on a first-come, first-served basis. These rentals include access to bike covers, locks, and helmets. Students are expected to treat this service responsibly. If extensive maintenance is required, we may ban select students from participating or consider suspending bikeshare in the future.

To start using this service, start by visiting this link: linktr.ee/yalestudentbikeshare

Steps:

  1. Complete Registration: To use bikeshare, students must download a Liability Waiver and User Agreement, sign them virtually, and upload them to a Google Form each academic year (i.e., if you signed up in the fall, you’re all set!). To access this Google Form, click on the Linktree button titled “Registration (Start Here)” and follow the instructions.
  2. Review the Bike Safety Materials: As part of the registration Google Form, students are required to review the Bike Safety page of the Yale Student Bikeshare webpage. You can access that via the “Bike Safety Resources” button.
  3. Consider Being a Volunteer: Each week, the program requires a volunteer team of 2-4 students per college to inspect the bikes (e.g., inflate wheels, check the brakes) and ensure that they are being properly locked. The best way for you to help keep bikeshare in our college is to sign up as a volunteer. The team collectively will dedicate an average of 2 hours per week to bikeshare, which means that the more people on the team, the less each person’s workload. Please sign up via the “Become a Yale Student Bikeshare volunteer!” button.
