HL’s Pieces

Dear Red Lions,

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  I hope all of you enjoyed your winter break and are ready to get started with the new semester!

This week’s “photo of the week” is from Tongil Ko ’18 and is titled “Welcome to Mary-Kay!”  Mary-Kay Kaminski is temporarily filling in for Karen McGovern, our beloved senior administrator in the Head of College Office.  Karen is recuperating from knee surgery and will be back in February.  Please give Mary-Kay a warm TD welcome!

All of you should have received President Salovey’s MLK Day note yesterday.  Please note tonight the Dining Hall will be doing a special “Breaking Bread” dinner in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King that will feature “world cuisine”.

Next Wednesday evening will be the 2018 MLK Keynote Address with Bree Newsome for her talk titled “Chaos or Community: Fifty Years Later, Where Do We Go from Here?”

We have quite a few events going on this month especially for the seniors!  But, we have events for all 4 classes this month.  For all First Years, Dean Mahurin and I are inviting you to participate in Fireside Chats at the TD house either this Wednesday 1/17 or Monday 1/22.  You should have all signed up for a time already!  TD sophomores please save the date ofWednesday 2/7 for your Sophomore Dinner in the TD House from 6-7:30pm.  And TD juniors, I look forward to working with you to plan a TD 2019 event for the spring!
