TIMOTHY DWIGHT NOTES & NEWS

WEEK OF 9/13/21

HL’S PIECES

Dear Red Lions,

Hope you all enjoyed the return of Sunday Family Night and caught up with friends old and new.  If you still do not have your TD sticker, please stop by the HoC office this week.

This week’s “photo of the week” comes from TD senior Andrew Zhang (left) who used the napkin holder to snap this reunion of off-campus folks (Olivia Platt, Bennett Hall, and Zach Zabib) with on-campus friends (Ben Kelly, Mac Huffard, Clayton Land, and Kinsale Hueston).

As we near the end of the Add/Drop period and schedules become sealed, we are getting closer to reopening all of our spaces.  Unfortunately, Ida created some setbacks with water damage to the TD underground but we are getting there.  Here is a quick update on where we stand with some of the spaces that have yet to reopen:

Multipurpose room – will likely reopen this week but parts of the room will have to be roped off for repairs.

Art Studio – reopening this Saturday!  See below for the Tote Bag Workshop opening event.  All users must sign a usage agreement form and receive orientation from our Art Studio Aides before granted swipe access.  Our TD art studio aides will also hold regular office hours to provide orientation and offer assistance with projects.

Student Kitchen – aiming to reopen next week.  All users must sign a usage agreement form and complete orientation to the space by our Kitchen Aides before granted swipe access and must reserve a time to use the kitchen.

TD Lounge – aiming to reopen next week.  All users must sign a usage agreement form before granted swipe access and must reserve a time to use the Lounge.

Buttery – aiming to reopen next week.  Due to unexpected mechanical problems we are unfortunately delaying for another week.  But our Buttery Managers are hard at work on the menu.

If we are able to reopen any of the above spaces sooner, I’ll write the college.

TD is looking to hire a sustainability liaison!  Each college’s liaison is responsible for helping to implement the Sustainability Action Plan for their college and works with our TD Operations Manager, Zina Anwar, as well as Yale’s Office of Sustainability.  To learn more about the position and application instructions please go to this link.  The title is “College Sustainability Liaison” and the Job ID is 23017.

Please remember that the TD Aides Office/Package Center next to entryway D will be closed for package pick-up from 11:30am-1pm so that we can receive and process our daily shipment of packages easily.

Here are some more important TD events and dates for the next two weeks:
